Garfield Elementary School

Garfield School is located in the heart of the Historic Garfield District and has been providing a quality education to pre kindergarten through grade eight students in downtown Phoenix since 1913. Garfield has a rich tradition of serving generations of neighborhood families. The school takes great pride in their focus on familial and cultural traditions and believes Together, We Can Achieve.

The school climate is greatly enhanced by the implementation of the Character Counts Program. The school curriculum is traditionally focused to ensure that every child reaches his or her full potential.

Students are engaged in each of the core subjects including mathematics, reading, language arts and socials studies, as well as music, art and physical education. And, students at Garfield can participate in our before and after school programs and intramural sports.

The pleasant and inviting courtyard on the Garfield campus is used for reading, celebrating, eating and connecting with friends and colleagues in a natural setting. Because of this soothing environment and caring, focused school climate, students from outside the district also like to enroll at Garfield.
