Important Information About State Testing

  • Assessment Requirements and Purpose: Per A.R.S. § 15-741, all students in publicly funded schools must be tested in grades 3-8 annually in language arts and mathematics, and in science for grades 5 and 8. This assessment measures students’ knowledge and skills relative to the Arizona academic standards.
  • Paper-based Testing Requests: Per A.R.S. § 15-741 and HB2540, parents have the right to request a paper version of the test for their child. Please submit this form if you would like to request a paper version. All requests must be completed by January 15th of the year students are testing to be honored.
  • Testing Policy: If you have any questions about testing policy, please reach out to the District Test Coordinator at brant.lloyd@phxschools.org.
  • Communication: Communication about state testing will be provided via a district letter in March and posted on Class Dojo weekly before and during state testing in March and April.
  • Results: Results reports will be available in Parent and Student Vue in June and paper reports will be provided at the beginning of the subsequent school year.
