The Governing Board recently approved changes to the District’s COVID-19 Health and Safety Plan per updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).  The changes include:

• Removal of the recommendation to quarantine students and staff due to close contact to a positive COVID-19 case
• Removal of the recommendation to cohort and social distance measures
• Recommendation to conduct screening testing to focus on high-risk activities during high COVID-19 Community Level, or in response to an outbreak

Now, the only time a person must isolate away from school is if that individual tests positive for COVID-19.  Individuals who test positive for COVID-19, must isolate at home for at least 5 calendar days.  Students/staff may return to school after 5 calendar days and symptoms have improved; and it is strongly recommended individuals wear a face mask for 5 additional days.

Please continue to monitor your child(ren’s) health each day before school.  If your child is not feeling well or has illness symptoms, please keep them home from school.
