Dear Phoenix Elementary School District Families,

We want to inform you about a recent social media trend that has come to our attention. There have been reports of posts circulating on various social media platforms featuring “lists” of schools, including those from Arizona and other states. On some of the posts, it states that the schools listed have been involved in shooting incidents in the past. Some of these lists appear to include schools with the same names as some of our schools, and many times the schools are located in different states. 

While police are investigating this matter further, we want to make sure our families are aware of this emerging trend, as students may encounter these posts and feel concerned. Please know that we are working with local law enforcement and our district will continue to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of our students and staff. We want to assure you that our campuses are safe and there are no credible threats to the safety of our students. 

We encourage you to speak with your child about the importance of sharing any concerns they may have about what they see on social media with a trusted adult. We also ask our families to please help us by talking to your students about the seriousness when it comes to threats and sharing them.
