Regional “Reggie” Carrillo is a born and raised native of Arizona. Carrillo is a product of public schools and grew up in El Mirage, Arizona. Carrillo is a graduate of Arizona State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in global health and Grand Canyon University where he received a Master’s in Education (M.Ed) from Grand Canyon University. Mr. Carrillo is also an alumni of the Valley Leadership Institute as well as the Hispanic Leadership Institute.
Regional Carrillo serves as an elected Phoenix Elementary Governing School Board Member working to ensure schools are focused on equity, advocating to increase public school funding and education staff pay. He is also the founder of AZ(LAND) whose mission is to co-create environmentally and racially just communities. In his professional role he works to expand access to equitable computer science opportunities and skill building across Arizona’s high schools. His passions and commitments include advocating for equitable access to education, technology, and organizing to develop green sustainable infrastructure and policy that centers historically excluded communities through the Barrio Innovation Approach.
When he is not serving in his professional or elected roles, Reggie is enjoying living life with his husband and two dogs in the South Central Corridor.
