At Capitol Elementary School, we are fully committed to providing extracurricular activities to extend student learning and provide a variety of programs. Our athletic program is an example and provides students a variety of after-school sports opportunities where students can compete in a safe environment and gain life-long skills, experiences and memories. Embedded in our athletic program is a strong focus on developing good citizens through the “Six Pillars of Character.” Each week, every team focuses on one of the six pillars that include:
- Trustworthiness
- Respect
- Responsibility
- Fairness
- Caring
- Citizenship
Fifth and Sixth-grade students have the opportunity to participate in the following sports:
- The Hoopsters Club – Boys Basketball
- The Volley Club – Girls Volleyball
- The Young Sluggers Club – Co-Ed Slow Pitch
- The Kickers Club – Co-Ed Soccer
Seventh and eighth-grade students have the opportunity to participate in the following sports:
- Co-ed Soccer
- Co-ed Slow Pitch
- Boys Basketball
- Girls Volleyball
