    Principal Ardon

    Dear Herrera Families & Community,

I hope you are having a wonderful summer! My name is Carlos Ardon, and I am the new principal at Herrera School for the Arts and Dual Language beginning in the 2019-20 school year. I am honored and humbled to join the Herrera community. This year will be my 18th year in public education. I started my educational journey as a Dual Language teacher in 2002 believing that all students are capable of reaching their academic potential with the strong support of families and educators working together. I am still a firm believer that all children can learn when educators and families collaborate to create fulfilling experiences for children to succeed academically and grow in any area of interest such as fine arts and sports. As a school and district administrator for the last seven years, I have made it my mission to always prioritize the individual needs of every child to ensure all decisions are always student-centered.

I want to welcome back our students and families and also encourage families and students looking for a new school to join us at Herrera. You can learn more about our school and enroll by calling (602) 257-3885.

Herrera’s commitment for students to experience success in our signature Arts and Dual Language program will be even stronger this school year. We provide a well-balanced curriculum that is conducive to thinking, learning and problem solving and a dedicated staff to assure your student is-well prepared for college, career and life.

The beginning of a new school year is the perfect time to strengthen a home-school partnership by meeting your child’s teachers. This action sends your child a clear message that you value schooling and you and the teacher are partners in your child’s success! This simple act and getting your child to school on time, every day, with a positive attitude toward learning are invaluable.

The individual success of each Herrera child is our goal. Open two-way communication will help develop trust and shared understanding. I am extremely proud of how our staff works collaboratively with parents and community members for the success of our students. But, it is your encouragement and support that will make the greatest difference. It will help your child develop the persistence to work through difficult tasks and achieve high aspirations. You are your child’s first teacher and greatest asset! Thank you for choosing Herrera as your learning community.

    Sincerely,

    Mr. Carlos Ardon
