Social Studies Curriculum Adoption
-
Thank you for taking the time to engage with our Social Studies Curriculum Review process. We understand that you play a key role in shaping our students' education, and your feedback is essential as we consider new curriculum materials.
Our district is reviewing K-8 Social Studies materials that will impact your children’s learning experience for the upcoming school years. To ensure we select the best resources, we need your input.
Why This Matters
The materials we choose will be used by teachers across all grade levels, from kindergarten through 8th grade, starting in the 2025-2026 school year. They are designed to help students meet the Social Studies standards set by the state, which cover topics such as U.S. history, world geography, civics, and Arizona history.

60-Day Public Review Timeline
Public Review of Materials: September 19, 2024 – December 18, 2024
- Public Review includes the opportunity to review both digital and physical copies of curriculum materials. Physical copies of materials will be housed at sites located throughout the district. Designated sites hosting public review of materials are posted under "Review Material".
- Public review will also include opportunities to attend presentations by potential vendors who will share additional information regarding use of materials and answer specific questions prior to the conclusion of the Public Review period. You will have an opportunity to share your questions prior to submitting this form. Questions received through Public Review will help potential vendors prepare presentations that target specific needs or concerns.
Following the Public Review process, the Social Studies Curriculum Adoption Committee will reconvene to review collected feedback in order to provide a recommendation to the Governing Board for possible adoption.
